Washing and drying lingerie is not like doing regular laundry. The materials are delicate and need special care. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you launder your items.

General Lingerie Care Tips

Always handle your garments carefully and read each product’s tag thoroughly before beginning any type of cleaning.

For most products, we recommend hand washing. Use cold water and a mild detergent and rinse thoroughly.

Some garments require dry cleaning only. Watch carefully for these items as laundering them another way could potentially cause damage to the lingerie.

For the best lingerie care, do not leave your garments to soak in water. Avoid wringing, twisting, rubbing, or otherwise scrunching your items.

Don’t spin or tumble dry your garments. Always dry them flat or hang them up.

Not all garments can be ironed. If it’s okay to do so, turn the item inside out before starting.

Bras and Corsets

Avoid putting your bras or corsets in the washing machine or dryer. Machine washing can cause damage. Any underwire bras may result in the wire becoming exposed through the fabric. The cups of our bras may also be damaged by washing machines and dryers.

As part of your bra and corset lingerie care, always hand wash these items. Use lukewarm or cold water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.

Don’t wring out bras or corsets. Instead, fold them in half and gently squeeze out excess water before laying them flat to dry.

Knickers, Garter Belts, and Nightwear

Some of our knickers, garter belts, and nightwear may be able to go in the washing machine — always check the tag first.

If machine wash is okay, always use the most gentle cycle and lukewarm or cold water. Tumble dry (if allowed) on low and remove from the dryer promptly.

If machine washing is not part of the lingerie care, follow the same tips as our bras and corsets.

Never put any silk in the washing machine or dryer. It can damage the fabric.
